ART THAT REPRESENTS OUR NATURAL RESOURCES, FROM THE MOUNTAINS TO THE SEA
“It is my intention that my artwork speaks to your heart like a close friend, a close friend that whispers remember this place.” – RoseLynn

About the Artist:

What led me here? Can you say “therapy” from being with your “girlfriends”? On a beach trip, I learned to quiet myself, slow my tempo and stretch my abilities towards the natural world.

Graduating from St.Mary’s in Raleigh and Queen’s College in Charlotte with Liberal Arts and Communications degrees, my early career turned towards art after illustrating a children’s book, “It’s Potty Time.” I continued with art while my children were young alongside whatever turn my career took. After 9/11 and life events, my “inner compass” guided me too seek aggressively instruction and workshops from local and national artists and return fully aware to a “creative life.”

I became involved in several art organizations as a member: Guild of Charlotte Artists, Charlotte Artists Society and the Appalachian Pastel Society, instead of “stumbling around in my own world.” I started to imagine: “What is there to think about?” I decided to “show up for my life” and served as 1st VP Fundraising, Publicity Chair, ASC Liaison and on the board for Charlotte Art League in 2002-2004.

In 2006, I narrowed my focus to “environmental art,” which I call “ECO ART OF THE CAROLINAS.” I began to put myself out there creatively: enter contests, write, sing in the choir and play with words. “Blue Palms” was selected as part of the 17th Annual Juried Exhibition in Rock Hill, SC. My ECO ART art worked its way into juried shows in both Carolinas.

My art became my poetry, crafting out a new life for me and “environmental wealth” showed up as my focus. Pastel marshscapes brought to life, from my travel photos, began to capture the natural beauty of marsh and coastal estuaries. My intention was that my art touches your heart and asks you to reflect upon the dynamics of these fragile ecosystems and buy my art. But, my early research skills reared its antennae and spoke to me to create a website to raise the local consciousness about the importance of these critical natural resources: our coastal marshes. These vibrant wetlands support life itself through the functions they serve: as habitats for birds and wildlife, when they- trap sediments vital to clean water thus reducing costs to communities, soak and store storm water to prevent flooding, provide breeding grounds for freshwater and marine fish that depend upon wetlands for food (by consuming prey that are wetland dependent), and as they boost the economy through fisheries, jobs and tourism.

These vibrant, colorful, changing landscapes support my life and provide my soul with inspiration. This website came together from the help of friends. I would like you to support the environmental cause of your choosing. My art comes from the images in my head, from my own memories and feelings, and it rings true for me! So, HELLO World, stay positive and listen to your heart!
